Sedation at Instore Dental
We offer dental sedation at all of our dental surgeries.
Our dentists are very pleasant and approachable, but for some people who are frightened of dental treatment this can turn their visit into a nerve wracking experience.
You may decide that you need dental sedation to keep you relaxed for your dental treatment.
For our dental sedation, we use a medicine called Midazolam, which is administered via a gentle injection in the back of your hand or in your arm. The dose will depend on each individual's need. You will become drowsy and unaware of treatment and this will also allow you to not remember the treatment afterwards.
Before we can offer you sedation, we need to carry out a free-of-charge consultation to see if you are suitable for sedation, as there are some health issues which may contraindicate its use. We will need a full list of any medicines you are taking, so please make sure you take a note of these before visiting us.
From the consultation, we can dicuss with you fully your treatment plan and costs, before you commit to any treatment. You will be given a written estimate to take away with you.
We would advise that you are accompanied to your sedation treatment appointment as you will not be able to drive for a short period afterwards. It is highly advisable to make sure that you take the rest of the day off as you will feel sleepy until the medicines starts to wear off.
